Mountune Partnership Newsletter, Upgrades

January 18, 2011 by litchfield

Litchfield are pleased to announce that we are Mountune Racing Authorised Dealers which means we are able to supply performance products from the world’s finest Ford tuning company. Our relationship with Revolve Technologies, Mountune’s parent company, dates back many years as Litchfield has been a supplier of a variety Roush performance parts for our Ford GT’s and Mustangs which are officially imported by Revolve. Litchfield has also helped supply products for Revolve and it’s a partnership we look forward to developing further in the coming years.

With Mountune about to release a range of performance parts for the UK Ford performance models outside the main dealer supplied packages Litchfield is an ideal and experienced partner. Our skilled technicians will be able to help supply and fitted these excellent new parts on a variety of Ford models.

Below is Mountune’s exciting news from this years Autosport International show.

Mountune Racing and Olsberg MSE sharing the spotlight with the 2011 OMSE Rally cross Fiesta.

This joint venture sees Mountune undergoing an extensive development program on the new engine for OMSE’s now infamous Mk7 Fiesta – seen dominating the various rallycross disciplines and the ever-popular X Games series throughout 2010. Behind the wheel of the 2011 incarnation is American driving sensation Tanner Foust; Gold medalist of last years’ X Games Rally and Super Rally competition and most recently won the AWD class of the 2010 Gymkahana Grid.

Tanner was on stand from Thursday to Saturday, including an autograph session on the Saturday that was well received by his ever-growing UK fanbase. Tanner and his Olsberg-built Fiesta will be doing big things in 2011.

Also showcased at the Autosport International show this week, Mountune Racing is offering Ford fans a treat with their extreme take on the highly-acclaimed Ford Focus RS.

The MR400+ concept vehicle is based on the market-leading Mountune Performance MP350 conversion which gives the best possible base to work from boasting an uprated fuel delivery module, intercooler and improved airbox as standard.

The additional core power improvements come in the form of a revised turbocharger, a larger bore downpipe and sports catalyst, cast inlet plenum and larger fuel injectors. The final power output is still being evaluated but in excess of 400PS is certain.

In addition to the MR400+ concept, the Mountune Racing team are also working on a further upgrade for the Mountune Performance MP350 package. This is likely to include a few additional components and a new calibration, with both power and torque increased considerably over the MP350 conversion.

Sharing the same pool of calibrators not only yields advanced product knowledge, but also guarantees the OE-drive characteristic and reliability that are both inextricably linked with the Mountune name.

With the increase in performance comes the increased need for chassis upgrades and two suspension configurations under the Mountune Performance banner are under development to assist with this.

Two packages will be available; a spring only option, and a custom fixed platform damper / spring combination that delivers unparalleled fast-road handling improvements with a setup that’s also suited to occasional circuit work, too.

Concluding the line-up is a, Litchfield supplied, substantial MOVIT brake upgrade; 370mm bells and rotors, clamped down on by aerospace-grade billet aluminium 4-pot callipers providing the ultimate in stopping performance with virtually zero caliper flex… and in Mountune’s own shade of yellow they look the part behind the OZ Racing wheels, just as they do behind the standard OE wheel.

Additional circuit-focused upgrades will also be available for those needing additional cooling performance. An oil cooler package and an uprated aluminium radiator are currently undergoing environmental test laboratory work and once completed will be available to the general market.
